A humanoid robot named ‘I-Fairy’ conducted the wedding ceremony between Tomohiro Shibata and Satoko Inoue in Tokyo, Japan, on 16 May 2010.
The groom is a professor of robotics at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, while his bride is an employee of Kokoro, the company that builds and markets the 6.3 million yen (£47,000) I-Fairy. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8685184.stm
