The most wins of the Berlin Marathon by an individual (male) is five, achieved by Eliud Kipchoge (Kenya) in 2015, 2017–18 and 2022–23.
Kipchoge secured a record fifth Berlin title on 24 September 2023, winning in 2:02:42 – at that time, the eighth-fastest marathon in history. His wins in 2018 and 2022 were both achieved in world-record times.
The most wins of the Berlin Marathon by an individual (female) is three, achieved by Renata Kokowska (Poland) in 1988, 1991 and 1993; and equalled by Uta Pippig (Germany) in 1990, 1992 and 1995; Aberu Kebede (Ethiopia) in 2010, 2012 and 2016; and Gladys Cherono (Kenya) in 2015 and 2017–18.
