Chinese Taipei have won every Women’s Tug of War event at the World Games, a total of four victories: 2005, 2009 (both at 520 kg), 2013 and 2017 (both at 540 kg). They secured their fourth title by beating China 3–0 in the final on 29 July 2017 in Wrocław, Poland.
Tug of War is a classic test of strength in which two teams of eight pull against each other from each end of a rope, the winners being the team that manages to pull the other over a centre line. To ensure sides are evenly matched, teams are placed in weight categories.
