The most wins of the sepak takraw men’s team regu event at the Asian Games is six, by Thailand in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. They secured their sixth consecutive title with a 2–0 sets victory over Malaysia in the gold medal match on 22 August 2018 at Ranau Hall in Palembang, Indonesia.
Sepak takraw is a game similar to volleyball that uses a small rattan ball. Players are allowed to kick, knee, head and chest the ball. A regu team consists of three players.
