Most billionaires (city)

The city with the highest number of billionaire residents, according to Forbes, is New York City (USA). As of 8 March 2024, a total of 110 billionaires have their primary residence in the Big Apple.

The ultra-rich typically have multiple homes in several different countries, and live a kind of nomadic existence. As a result it is difficult to pin down a single place as their primary residence. While Forbes asserts New York has the crown, other reports use different definitions and produce different results. The World's Wealthiest Cities report, for example, which is compiled by wealth management firm Henley & Partners, reports that New York has only 60 billionaire residents, and that the Bay Area (the greater metropolitan area that includes San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, San Jose and Palo Alto) comes out on top with 68.
