The largest wingsuit skydive formation consisted of 68 skydivers and took place over Lake Elsinore, California, USA on 11 November 2009.
This is the largest officially recognized formation, recognized by the United States Parachute Association (USPA). A formation of 71 skydivers took place in November 2008, but is not officially recognized as the event was not properly recorded and there is debate over whether the formation was correct or not.
Once the skydivers were clear of the aircraft they joined together to form a complex diamond pattern, which they held for two miles at an average speed of 100 mph.
