English winger Ashton touched down during Leicester Tigers’ 14–23 defeat to Leinster on 7 May 2022, extending his try-scoring record in the Champions Cup. Leicester became Ashton’s fifth side to score a try for in the competition, having previously notched eight for Northampton Saints, 29 for Saracens, two for RC Toulonnais and one for Sale. The European Rugby Champions Cup was known as the Heineken Cup from 1995–2014.
