With 42 separate releases across 14 platforms, Metal Slug is the most prolific run and gun series ever. The first game was released on the Neo Geo in 1996, and its sequels went on to appear on the Neo Geo Pocket, Game Boy Advance, PC, SEGA Saturn, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360. The most recent release came in February 2009, with Metal Slug 7 hitting the Nintendo DS 13 years after the series began. Featured in Guinness World Records Gamer''s Edition 2010
