Launched in Japan on 26 February 1987, Family Trainer: Aerobics Studio for the Nintendo Famicom was the first rhythm videogame ever released. The series, which pioneered the dance mat controller, was originally called Family Trainer, but later renamed Family Fun Fitness and then the Power Pad in the West. Aerobics Studio was the third in the series of Family Trainer games on the Famicom console.
