The tallest pagoda is the Tianning Pagoda in Changzhou, China, completed in 2007. This 13-storey pagoda is 153.79 m (504.56 ft) tall.
Construction of the pagoda, which occupies about 27,000 square metres and cost about 300 million yuan ($38.5 million) to build, began in April 2002.
The Tianning Pagoda is nearly 42 m taller than the Shwedagon Paya in Burma and 7.2 m taller than the Khufu Pyramid in Egypt.
