Activision’s Guitar Hero series had sold 62.12 million units worldwide, across multiple home consoles and hand-held formats, as of 30 March 2017, according to VGChartz.
That put the series roughly 2 million ahead of its nearest rival, Ubisoft’s Just Dance.
The best-selling Guitar Hero game is the series’ third entry – 2007’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, with sales of 16.38 million.
