The most consecutive wins in the FIFA World Cup finals tournaments is 11 and was achieved by Brazil from 3 June 2002 with a 2-1 victory against Turkey in the group stages of the 2002 World Cup in Ulsan, South Korea to 27 June 2006 when they defeated Ghana 3-0 in the second round of the 2006 World Cup in Dortmund, Germany.
The winning streak included the 2002 World Cup Final held in Tokyo, Japan, on 30 June 2002, in which Brazil defeated Germany 2-0 to secure their record fifth World Cup. They suffered defeat for the first time since the 1998 World Cup final on 3 July 2006 when they lost 1-0 to France (who incidentally were victors in the 1998 final) in the quarter-finals.
