Richest drug dealer

The richest drug dealer according to Forbes is currently Joaquin Guzman Loera (Mexico) the head of the Sinaloa Cartel who has an estimated fortune of USD£1 billion (GBP£722 million) gained from drug trafficking. Joaquin Guzman is currenlty Mexico's most wanted person after escaping from a federal Mexican prison in 2001, allegedly through the laundry. The US government is offering USD5 million reward for his capture. Forbes state the source of his wealth as coming from drug trafficking and his fortune is said to be self made. He is not the first drug dealer to have made the rich list in 1989, Colombia's Pablo Escobar was ranked the 7th richest man in the world, with $25bn (£18bn) to his name.
