At the age of 100, Donald Pellmann set five masters’ world records in one day at the San Diego Senior Games: in the 100 metres, shot put (6.56 m), discus (14.86 m), long jump (1.78 m) and high jump (0.9 m) – in which he became the first person over 100 to clear a mark. Pellman’s 100 m time took almost three seconds over the previous age-100-plus best and was ratified by World Masters Athletics.
