Most plastic bags used in an artwork

The Plastic Bag Monster was created by Slovenian artist Miha Artnak. A total of 40,000 used plastic bags and 7,500 used plastic cups were collected to create the artwork. Designed to highlight the spread of consumerism and rising levels of waste worldwide, the sculpture has been displayed at a variety of locations. In mid-2011, it was exhibited outside the European Commission headquarters in Brussels in 2011. According to the artist's website, the plastic waste was collected from 12 kindergartens, 21 primary schools, four high schools and three faculties in the city of Ljubljana. More than 500 people from the city also donated plastic waste to the project.
