Most indigenous bird breeding species

The country that contains more indigenous breeding species of bird than any other is Colombia, in South America, which is home to over 1700. In comparison, even Canada and the USA combined, yielding a total area vastly in excess of Colombia’s, contains little more than 600 indigenous breeding species.
