British rock band Oasis (UK) put together a string of 22 consecutive Top 10 hits on the UK’s Official Singles Chart – from “Live Forever” on 20 August 1994 to “The Shock of the Lightning” on 11 October 2008. The sequence was disrupted by “I’m Outta Time”, which peaked at No.12 in December 2008. Oasis matched a feat achieved the previous year by Westlife (UK/Ireland), who amassed 22 Top 10 hits in a row – including all 14 of their UK No.1s – from “Swear It Again” on 1 May 1999 to “Home” on 10 November 2007. “I’m Already There” broke the run, stalling at No.62 in December 2007.

Excluded from Oasis’ sequence is “Wibbling Rivalry”, a profanity-laden interview with Liam and Noel Gallagher by NME’s John Harris from 7 April 1994, released by the record label Fierce Panda under the name Oas*s and featuring gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray on the cover. Sub-titled “Fourteen Minutes of Verbal Mayhem”, “Wibbling Rivalry” entered the UK chart at its peak position, No.52, on 25 November 1995.

Other groups noted for their extended Top 10 streaks on the UK singles chart include The Beatles (18, from “A Hard Day’s Night” on 22 July 1964 to “Yesterday” on 27 March 1976), ABBA (18, from “SOS” on 18 October 1975 to “One of Us” on 19 December 1981), Girls Aloud (17, from “Sound of the Underground” on 28 December 2002 to “Call the Shots” on 1 December 2007), The Rolling Stones (14), The Shadows (14), Take That (14), and Boyzone, Pet Shop Boys, Ed Sheeran and Spice Girls, who all strung together 10 Top 10 hits in succession.
