Fastest time to sail from Hong Kong to London

Hong Kong to London – a recognized and ratified by the World Sailing Speed Council – was sailed in 41 days 21 hr 26 min 34 sec by Lionel Lemonchois (France) and his crew of nine onboard Gitana 13 in September 2008. The distance covered was 12,948 nautical miles (23,979.6 km; 14,900.2 miles), giving an average speed of 12.88 knots (23.8 km/h; 14.8 mph).
