Sweden’s Björn Borg (French Open champion in 1974-75 and 1978-81) amassed four consecutive wins at Stade Roland Garros and is the only player other than Nadal to win more than three men’s singles titles in France in the open era (since 1968). Frenchman Paul Aymé (1897-1900) also won four French Open titles in a row, while three other Frenchmen claimed three back-to-back wins at their home Grand Slam, most recently in 1943-45.
