Telenovelas (the Latin American version of soap opera) are the most widely watched shows in Latin American and are exported in huge numbers to many different territories. It’s estimated that Telenovelas from Mexico and Brazil are more globally popular than American, British and Australian soap operas combined. The market leader in this field is Mexico’s Televisa, closely followed by Brazil’s Globo.
