The Republic of Kiribati is an island nation of around 100,000 people living on the country?s collection of atolls in the Pacific Ocean. In 1995 its government moved the International Dateline so that all of its islands were in the same time zone. As a result, the International Dateline now bulges eastward at Kiribati to almost the 150 degree meridian.
