Wolverine is the X-Men character with the most spin-off solo games. As well as appearing as playable characters in 23 official X-Men games and numerous Marvel games, he has also starred in five videogames of his own. Wolverine for the NES was released in 1991, Adamantium Rage for the Megadrive and SNES arrived in 1994, while Wolverine’s Rage hit the GameBoy Colour in 2001. Wolverine’s Revenge, based on the second X-Men movie, came out on five platforms in 2003 and, lastly, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, loosely based on the spin-off movie of the same name, was released in 2009 on seven platforms.

The best-selling Wolverine videogame is the most recent; X-Men Origins: Wolverine had sold 2.29 million copies as of 13 September 2016, according to VGChartz.com.
