The Billboard Hot 100 chart of 7 June 2008 featured 17 songs by artists managed by Simon Fuller (UK), 14 of which made their debut in that week. All 17 of the hits were by artists who had their careers launched on the popular TV series American Idol, created by Fuller. David Cook (USA) registered 11 of these new entries, led by “The Time Of My Life”, which debuted at No.3 on the Hot 100. A further three debuts were by David Archuleta (USA), the runner-up on that season’s American Idol, led by his cover version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, which entered the chart at No.36.
