American Idol winner David Cook (USA) registered the greatest number of debuts by any artist in the 50-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 with 11 songs entering the chart dated 7 June 2008. The previous record of six new entries in one week had been set by Miley Cyrus (USA) in November 2006.
Cook’s 11 hits were led by “The Time Of My Life”, which debuted at No.3. The remaining chart entries were: “Dream Big” (No.15); “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” (No.22); “The World I Know” (No.28); “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” (No.42); “Billie Jean” (No.47); “Always Be My Baby” (No.67); “Hello” (No.73); “The Music Of The Night” (No.77); “Eleanor Rigby” (No.92); “I’m Alive” (No.99).
