First Nintendo console to use discs

The earliest Nintendo console to use discs was the GameCube. Matsushita’s Nintendo GameCube discs were created especially for the GameCube. Smaller than standard discs, these measured just 8 cm. They were chosen to make it harder for people to make illegal copies of games. Unfortunately this choice proved unpopular, as gamers were unable to play their DVDs or CDs.
