First action-adventure videogame banned in the UK

The earliest action adventure video game to be banned in the United Kingdom was Manhunt 2 which was refused a rating certificate by the British Board of Film Classification in June 2007, making it illegal for the game to be sold in the UK. It was found to feature an “unrelenting focus on brutal slaying”. Although revised in October 2007, it was still considered too violent for a certificate.
