Tetromino by tetromino, the Nintendo Game Boy version of Tetris (Nintendo, 1989), has stacked up to become the best-selling puzzle game ever, and the sixth best-selling videogame of all time as of 18 June 2013. In the nearly 25 years since its release for the Nintendo Game Boy, it has sold over 30.26 million copies and spawned countless sequels and spin-offs across virtually every videogame platform. Despite the many versions, Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov insists the Game Boy version is his favourite version.
