The record for the longest time covered in a strategy video game is Civilization. Starting in the year 4000BC, every game in the Civilization series has taken the human race all the way to supposed interstellar exodus in the year 2100. Alpha Centauri, Sid Meier’s only foray into science-fiction, is seemingly set after Civilization and deals with the colonists’ arrival on the new planet, stretching into the distant future.
