In 2010, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) formally unified the Taça Brasil (1959–68) and the Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa (1967–70) with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (1971–present), allowing winners of all three tournaments to class themselves as Brazilian champions. Palmeiras’s total of 12 Brazilian championships includes two wins of the Taça Brasil (1960, 1967) and two of the Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa (1967, 1969).
