The fastest crossing of the Atlantic, east to west on the Trade Winds I route by a team of five, is 36 days 19 hr and 9 min by "The Nauti Buoys", aka Hector Strickland, Nicholas Rakowski, Paul Heerema, Rory Ormiston and Matthieu Poudevigne (all UK), who rowed Mrs Nelson from San Sebastian in Spain to English Harbour in Antigua between 12 December 2018 and 18 January 2019.
The Nauti Buoys raced as part of the Talisker Atlantic Challenge 2018, and came in third place overall. The row was also used to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
