The Ceratopsids were herbivorous dinosaurs characterised by their beaks and huge skull frills and horns. The purpose of the horns is unclear and they may have been used for defence or for mating displays. Ceratopsids included Triceratops and Torosaurus. A Pentaceratops skull on display in the USA measures 3.2 m (10 ft 6 in) in height.
