The longest recorded dive by a marine vertebrate is 10 hr 14 min by an adult female loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Tunisia in February 2003. The time was recorded by researchers led by Dr Annette Broderick of the University of Exeter, UK. Loggerheads are able to slow their internal systems down, thus requiring less oxygen and surviving for hours on one breath.

Notes from Dr Broderick:
The turtle had been nesting on the north coast o f Cyprus (departed 10 July 2002), then migrated back to Tunisia (arrived 14th September 2002), where it foraged and moved off shore to over-winter, and winter in, November 2002 (until March 2003).
