The longest recorded labour for a captive panda is 34 hours and belongs to Zhang Ka, as she gave birth to her first cub - and the largest panda cub born in captivity weighing 218 g (7.6 oz) - at the Wolong Giant Panda Research Centre, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China on 7 August 2006.
The cub was male.
