The fastest row ever recorded across the Atlantic in any direction, land to land, is 33 days 7 hr 30 min, and was achieved by the 14-man crew of La Mondiale, led by Leven Brown (UK). The British/Irish team rowed East to West leaving Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria, Spain, on 15 December 2007 and arriving at Port St Charles, Barbados on 17 January 2008. The British/Irish team: Peter Donaldson, Mike Tooth, Julian Barnwell, Reinhardt von Hof, Ray Carroll, Charlie Taylor, Stuart Kershaw, Don Lennox, Oliver Dudley, Rob Loder-Symonds, Peter Luard, Jamie Walker & Dr. Liam Hughes, led by ocean rower Leven Brown.
