With three wins at the 42nd BRIT Awards on 8 February 2022, Adele (UK, b. Adele Adkins) took her tally of trophies collected at the British music industry’s most prestigious annual awards show to 12. She won the first Critics’ Choice Award (now re-named the Rising Star Award) in 2008, and followed it up with Best British Female Solo Artist in 2012 and 2016, Album of the Year in 2012 (21), 2016 (25) and 2022 (30), Single of the Year in 2013 (“Skyfall”), 2016 (“Hello”) and 2022 (“Easy on Me”) and Artist of the Year in 2022. She also won the Global Success Award in 2016 and 2017.


As of 2022, Adele was just one award shy of Robbie Williams’ overall solo record of 13 (1999–2017), although the former boy band heartthrob turned solo star also won five times as a member of Take That (1993–2011), taking his total number of BRIT awards to 18.

Among female solo artists, Annie Lennox (7, in 1984–96, plus one with Eurythmics) and Dua Lipa (6, in 2018–22) are next on the list of multiple winners at the BRIT Awards.
