According to Russian news website www.life.ru, in early 2010 a 49-year-old man known only as “Petr F” underwent a three-hour operation to remove 120 kg (264 lb) of fat and skin in Voronezh, Russia. Before the operation, the 180-cm-tall (5-ft 10-in) Petr weighed 240 kg (529 lb), but his inability to walk for long periods of time or to sleep on his back drove him to seek drastic medical help.
