Most high school seniors chosen in first round of NBA draft

A record eight high school seniors were chosen in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft held in New York, on 24 June 2004 – Dwight Howard (No. 1), Shaun Livingston (No. 4), Robert Swift (No. 12), Sebastian Telfair (No. 13), Al Jefferson (No. 15), Josh Smith (No. 17), J.R. Smith (No. 18) and Dorell Wright (No. 19). The previous record was four, set in 2003: Lebron James, Travis Outlaw, Ndudi Ebi, Kendrick Perkins, and 2001: Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry and Desagana Diop.
