The most goals in an Olympic women’s football tournament is 10, achieved by Vivianne Miedema (Netherlands) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on 21–30 July 2021 in Japan.


Dutch striker Miedema scored eight times in three Group F matches: four against Zambia and twice against both Brazil and China. In the quarter-final on 30 July, she added a brace in a 2–2 draw with the USA, only to miss a penalty in the shootout as the Netherlands crashed out 4–2.
