Longest-serving Army Mule

Beginning the tradition in 1899, the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, USA, has always had mules (usually two, sometimes three, consecutively) known as Army Mules as its official mascots. The longest-serving Army Mule was Buckshot, who served in this capacity for 21 years from November 1964 to her retirement at the age of 27 on 10 July 1986. She was a gift of the United States Air Force Academy.
