Anthony Schumacher (USA), who drives the US Army dragster, set an National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) record by reaching seven consecutive final rounds to end the 2005 season. The streak is active entering the 2007 season.

During the 2005 season, he registered the fastest speed 589.26 km/h (336.15 mph) at Columbus, Ohio, USA in May, and recorded the quickest time (4.437 seconds) at Chicago, Illinois, USA in October. With his win at the season-ending Auto Club Finals, Tony Schumacher (USA), who drives the U.S. Army dragster, set NHRA records for consecutive wins (5), consecutive final rounds (7) and consecutive round-wins (20). All streaks are active entering the 2006 season.
