Four individuals have won the Best Original Song category on four occasions:- Sammy Cahn (USA, 1913 – 1993) between 1955 –1964; Alan Menken (USA, b. 22 July 1949) between 1990 – 1996; Johnny Mercer (USA 1909 – 1976) between 1947 –1963 and James Van Heusen (USA 1913 –1990) between 1945–1963.
