The most men's IRF racquetball world championships singles titles won by an individual is five and was achieved by Rocky Carson (USA) in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
Carson defended his title, which was his sixth world title overall, having been the doubles champion in 2012.
The California native currently places as World No. 2, behind only Texan Kane Waselenchuk on the IRT (International Racquetball Tour) rankings.
