Mike Horn (South Africa) circumnavigated the Earth along the Equator by bicycle, dugout canoe, sailing trimaran and on foot in 513 days between 2 June 1999 and 27 October 2000. His journey started and finished near Libreville in the west African state of Gabon, and proceeded in six legs that included sailing across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and crossing the Amazon and central Africa.
