Largest racing vehicles

The largest vehicles to participate in an ongoing, organised racing championship are the trucks of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. According to regulations, Race Trucks must weigh at least 5,500 kg (12,125 lb), and they typically sport 12 litre (732 cu in) turbocharged engines that generate in excess of 746 kW (1,000 hp) of power and 3,000 Nm (2,200 lb-ft) of torque. Despite their massive power, their top speed is limited to 160 km/h (99 mph) for safety reasons.
