Although there are other ships that can potentially carry more passengers, the vessels with the largest 'standard' passenger loads are the Staten Island ferry (New York, USA) sister ships Andrew J. Barberi and Samuel I. Newhouse. Each can carry 6,000 passengers and is 95 m (310 ft) long, 21 m (69 ft 10 in) wide, with a service speed of 16 knots (30 km/h or 19 mph).
By comparison, the world's largest cruise ship has place for around 3,800 passengers and crew.
