Most Hollywood film performances - same role

William Boyd (1898-1972) played the cowboy Hopalong Cassidy in Paramount's 66 Hopalong full-length features, beginning with Hop-Along Cassidy (USA 1935) and ending with Strange Gamble (USA 1948). From 1949-52 he continued the role on television in 52 episodes each running 30 minutes. Unusually, his character wore black - attire usually reserved for the baddies!
