Laughlab, an internet experiment into humour, was conducted by psychologist Richard Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK, and the British Association for the Advancement of Science. Running from September 2001 to October 2002, over 40,000 jokes were submitted from the public worldwide, and around 2 million votes were cast on what was the funniest.
