Most municipalities to co-ordinate the same environmental awareness walk simultaneously

The most municipalities to co-ordinate the same environmental awareness walk simultaneously is 34 and was achieved by Nhan Dan Newspaper (Vietnam) in Vietnam on 30 August 2026

The record attempt took place as part of the environmental awareness walk which aims to promote walking as a habit to reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to reforestation. This is the second year that this event was held, and the organisers aim to make this an annual tradition.

From major urban centres to remote communes, people set off at the same time. Participants included residents, students, workers, youth union members, officials, officers and volunteers — all connected by one simple action: walking together for health, community and the environment.

The initiative was launched by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, local authorities, organisations, volunteers and communities nationwide.
