Peter Shilton (UK) achieved the feat playing for England between 1982 and 1990 and Fabien Barthez (France) equalled the record playing for France in tournaments between 1998 and 2006. Shilton kept four clean sheets in 1982, three in 1986 and three in 1990 reaching the semi-finals in that tournament. Barthez kept five in 1998, one in 2002 and four in 2006 winning the World Cup in 1998 and finishing runner-up in 2006.
