The largest tethered hot air balloon in the shape of a bottle is 2,882.64 m³ (101,799.47 ft³) and was achieved by Budweiser (Brazil), in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 08 May 2026.
The attempt took place at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. It was a Budweiser initiative in connection with the World Cup. The idea was to transform the stadium (which has a cylindrical shape with a hole in the middle) into a beer bucket so that the giant bottles would be visible to those looking from the outside.
The test was conducted in the morning, inflating three balloons, and for the record attempt, only one balloon was inflated, from which the measurements were taken.
The bottle was 35 meters tall, and the measurement was made using on-site measurements plus a surveyor's instrument.
